The SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro are the PREMIUM TWS earbuds of the fourth generation and, just like the Air4, compete at the market economy level (the most crowded and ruthless level).
At first glance, THE soundpeats Air4 Pro is not much different from the Air4, since both headphones are based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon platform and the lossless aptX codec for excellent sound quality. And they both use the same dynamic 13mm speaker, so why call the new pro headphones?
Well, the first reason is that the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro are not semi-open and instead get into the ear canal, forming a seal and possibly increasing the sound quality. In addition, the manufacturer added a transparency mode, which did not make much sense on the half-open Air4, but is required on the Air4 Pro. In addition, we have also improved the in-ear detection so that the track will be interrupted when you remove the earbuds to resume it as soon as the earbuds are turned on again.
This is obviously not a major upgrade or an upgrade, but in this matter I have a feeling that even the smallest changes will affect the feel of the headphones and the sound produced. You can also use the mobile app to customize the equalizer, and yes, it’s actually customizable, not just a few presets to choose from, so without further ado, let’s put THE SoundPEATS Air4 Pro through its paces and see how well they work.
Build quality and design
In terms of design, the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro are very similar to the Air4, but far from identical. Firstly, it’s because of the inner ear lug, which requires the use of silicone tips for a good seal (and the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro offer some additional earplugs of different sizes in the package).
Then I noticed that the main microphone grille is smaller, which may or may not indicate a deterioration in call quality, but we will see in the relevant section whether this is really the matter. The metal grille of the speaker is still there, and the entire earpiece is finished with a matte finish identical to that of the Air4, but it is worth noting that some colors (shades) are available. While the Air4s I tested were black, the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro I’m currently testing are white.
The extended neck is the same size as the Air4 and serves the same purpose. To wrap the Bluetooth antenna, the additional microphone and the two charging pins, it also acts as a stability point to ensure that the earbuds sit comfortably in the ear. And yes, the Air4s are more comfortable due to the semi-open design, but the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro are lightweight and also feel decently comfortable, although you feel the slight pressure in the inner ear, as expected from any TWS headphones.
On the outside of one of the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro earbuds, you can see the faux metal area where the touch-sensitive multi-function button (similar to the Air4) is focused. If you tap on an earbud twice, a track will start or pause, and to decrease or increase the volume, you need to tap on the left or right earbud twice, on the outside of one of the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro earbuds, you will see the faux metal area where the touch-sensitive multi-function button (similar to the Air4) is focused. Tapping an earbud twice will start or pause a song, and to decrease or increase the volume, you need to tap the left or right earbud twice. To switch to the next track, hold down the right earbud for a second and a half, but if you want to go back to the previous one, you will have to do it manually through the audio source, since SOUNDPEATS has added the function of switching to transparency / ANC / normal mode by holding down the left earbud.
Not the best implementation since you could have added a triple tap or a longer wait, not the best implementation since you could have added a triple tap or a longer wait, but I digress. When you receive a call, you can answer it by tapping an earbud twice (as if you were hanging up); to reject a call, press and hold an earbud for one and a half seconds. To activate the game mode, tap the left earbud three times-ah, so this is possible.
Now let’s talk a little about water resistance. The SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro, like the Air4, are IPX4 certified, and that means there is some protection from the occasional splash, but don’t take a shower while wearing these headphones. Can you use them in outdoor activities, including sports? There are headphones that offer some drop protection, but the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro does not, so I recommend that you be careful when using them while jogging or cycling, as they can easily fall off.
Soundpeats air4 pro charging cover
The charging cover that comes with the SOUNDPEATS Air4 Pro strongly resembles the appearance of the Airpods and is slightly different in shape from that of the air4 cover. Its dimensions are 6.0 x 4.5
